Community pottery rooms
Shared studio rooms that support regular hands-on practice and day-to-day making.
About & Join
Otago Potters Group is a community pottery group in South Dunedin where members use shared pottery rooms, work-for-firing areas, kilns, and facilities, and take part in exhibitions, market days, and occasional workshops through the year. The environment is best suited to those who have prior experience with clay.
What the group offers
OPG focuses on the experience of making in a well-used community studio rather than on a packed calendar. The appeal is the combination of workable facilities and a welcoming group around them.
Shared studio rooms that support regular hands-on practice and day-to-day making.
Access to the core tools, work-for-firing shelves, and firing setup needed to keep work moving.
If you are interested in pottery but have no previous experience we recommend that you enrol in a beginners class. Please email us with any enquiries.
Opportunities to show and share work as part of the wider life of the group.
Workshops are run a couple of times a year, alongside the regular studio rhythm.
Interested people should email otagopottersgroup@gmail.com.
Prospective members will meet the membership secretary and be shown around before joining.
Membership forms are supplied after that stage rather than being publicly downloadable.
